Anton Valkovsky

Anton Valkovsky (b. 1986, Volgograd, Russia) is a curator and researcher of contemporary art who lives and works in Volgograd. He graduated from Volgograd State Pedagogical University in 2009 and holds a PhD in Philosophy. Since 2009 he has been a lecturer in Contemporary Art Theory and Practice and Art Management in Volgograd State Pedagogical University and has been giving public lectures on the local art scene and contemporary art in general. Since 2012 he has been a senior specialist in project and strategic planning and communications at Volgograd Oblast Agency for Cultural Initiatives. He curated public art projects (Re)Inventing the Public: Check-Points, Volgograd (2015) and (Re)Inventing the Public: Apologia of the Void, Volgograd (2016). Since 2014 he has been studying and archiving Volgograd performance and video art of 1980s and 1990s.
